There’s two types of romantic date nights – the adventurous and the relaxing. Most of the best things to do are a little of both.
We highly recommend a parasailing trip for two. You can glide atop the sound with Beaufort Parasail or hit the ocean with Dragonfly Parasail.
Does the idea of getting 400 feet above the ocean excite you? This is the top thing to do. You can go tandem, of course. Request a photo package to capture the moment forever.
Few things bring people closer together better than art. The Morehead Center for Performing Arts is an excellent display of the local talent. Enjoy a comedy show, musical, or other event over a glass of wine at this 500+ seat event hall.
If you just want to wander the area and see the isolated natural sights, we highly recommend Fort Macon State Park. There’s nine acres of ground to cover, all under the backdrop of the authentic Civil War-era Fort Macon. You can get off-the-radar by heading down the trails, with the ocean as your background.

The short answer for most of us is, of course, eat.
Atlantic beach has some spectacular dining. The Island Grille has a deceptively simple title, but it is arguably the finest restaurant in the Crystal Coast for seafood. The cottage exterior sets a nice and warm tone. Come for an exceptional dinner to stop by for its acclaimed Sunday brunch.
Pescara is top-tier Italian in Atlantic Beach. The elegant and warm atmosphere acts as a whimsical backdrop for some authentic Italian dishes, including veal, a salumi platter, calamari, roasted eggplant parmesan, and more.
It exudes a romantic atmosphere. You can sit out on the small and intimate patio, with soft candles on the table and the moody warmth of the bonfire nearby. This coastal Italian escape is known for its wood-fire oven, giving everything a nice and tender coat.
