Your Guide to Public Beaches Along the Crystal Coast

While many may want to go to Florida or California to enjoy sand and surf, there are plenty of great public beaches along the spectacular coastline of North Carolina. We’re happy to offer a wide selection of Crystal Coast beach house rentals, putting you in the center of the action. Here are a few of our favorite beaches in the area.

Circle Regional Beach Access

The Circle at Atlantic Beach is one of the most convenient beaches in the area, well-loved by locals and tourists alike and often referred to as the main “Town Beach.” Despite its popularity, there is always a free spot on the sand, so you don’t have to worry about constantly bumping elbows with other visitors. You truly can’t miss this stretch of land, located right across the Atlantic Beach Causeway.

Here, it’s easy to spend the whole day relaxing with the family, thanks to amenities like three volleyball courts, a swing set, a soccer field, and more. There are tons of shops and restaurants up and down the street for you to explore. Lifeguards are on duty from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. The Circle offers over 300 paid parking spots, as well as accessible bathroom facilities and outdoor showers.

Tom Doe Memorial Beach Access

Easily spotted on Ocean Boulevard in Atlantic City, Tom Doe Memorial Beach Access has many accessible facilities, perfect for everyone to come and enjoy the day. The soft, white sand and gorgeous views are not to be missed, and this beach tends to be a bit less crowded than The Circle nearby. You can wade in the water or collect seashells along the shore, ideal for exploring at any time of day.

You’ll find parking close to the beach, but if all the spots are full, additional parking can be found along Henderson Boulevard. Additional amenities include outdoor showers, a beach playground, a foot-washing station, and handicap parking and ramps.

You may not consider a state park when thinking about beach access, but you’d be doing yourself a disservice by skipping out on Fort Macon State Park.

Fort Macon State Park

You may not consider a state park when thinking about beach access, but you’d be doing yourself a disservice by skipping out on Fort Macon State Park. In addition to their beach, Fort Macon boasts tons of interesting history and gorgeous nature. It’s the ideal place to take the entire family, no matter what you’re interested in.

While Fort Macon is perfect to visit year-round, their swimming area is open from Memorial Day until Labor Day. You can swim from 10 a.m. until 5:45 p.m., and there is no entrance fee into the park. There are over 500 parking spots available, so it should be easy to get in and start swimming!

Salter Path Regional Public Beach Access

The small community of Salter Path is often overlooked, but it’s home to some of the most beautiful views in the state. Visit Salter Path Regional Public Beach Access to find a quiet spot to sunbathe and enjoy the breeze. It may seem unassuming, but if you’re looking for a private moment with your sweetheart or family, Salter Path is the place to be.

You will find 75 parking spots at Salter Path, along with amenities such as outdoor showers and picnic areas. It’s easy to find a nearby shop or restaurant to grab a meal that you can enjoy on the beach. You’ll also find restrooms conveniently located within the Roosevelt State Park area.
