Your Pet Friendly Travel Guide To The Crystal Coast

When you decide to go on a family vacation, why not include your furry friend along for the ride! The Crystal Coast is not only home to some of the best beaches and views around but it is also home to many dog lovers and therefore, many dog-friendly establishments.

So here is your pet friendly travel guide to the Crystal Coast to help your whole family have a worry-free vacation.

Pet Friendly Coastal Retreat

One of the most important parts of bringing your pet on your vacation is finding a place to stay. Luckily, Spectrum Properties has a whole collection of dog-friendly vacation rentals that can both fit your budget and your location. From one end of the Crystal Coast to the other, we have over 30 properties that your pet will find as the perfect retreat.

Enjoy our charming two bedroom cottage in Harkers Island, NC where your pet can sit at your feet under the rocking chairs on the front porch while you enjoy the sounds of a coastal evening.

Better yet, rent this Downeast home that has a wonderful dock where you can throw the ball over the sound for your pet to swim after to their heart’s content while you enjoy the peaceful scenery. It also comes with dock slips so you can take the whole family on a quick boat ride over to Cape Lookout for the day.

We also have waterfront properties such as our four bedroom oceanfront rental in Pine Knoll Shores where you and your pup can enjoy morning strolls on the beach and watch the world wake up. From one bedroom apartments to five bedroom homes, we are here to make sure no family member is left out on your vacation!

Pet Friendly Itinerary

Once you have the living arrangements sorted, it’s time to find out how you can include your pup into your vacation activities. Thankfully the beach is the easiest place to make that a reality. All of the Crystal Coast beaches are pet-friendly as long as they are on a leash. Set up your tent and beach chairs along the sand and enjoy time in the sun, fishing on the beach or playing in the ocean with your pup along for the ride.

In addition to the beach, there is a wonderful dog park at Rotary Park where your furry friend can run, play and get some of that energy out before heading back home for the evening. There are also trails such as the Fort Macon trails that run over the sand dunes along the beach and back along the sound where your dog will have a wonderful time looking for birds and other wildlife.

For more adventure, you can take a ferry ride over to Cape Lookout, Shackleford Banks or even take a day trip to Ocracoke Island. Your family will have a wonderful time exploring the islands and enjoying the water.

Pet Friendly Dining Experience

When you take your family for a walk on the boardwalks in Beaufort and Morehead City, your pet will have the time of their life getting greeted by tourists and locals alike and finding the water bowls scattered along by waterfront patrons leave for their refreshment.

With most restaurants having outdoor seating options, finding a dog friendly restaurant is actually pretty easy. You can sip an afternoon drink at Jack’s, grab a bite to eat at Yellowfin Pub, enjoy the evening sitting on the patio at IdleHour and give your pet a pupsicle, or play a game of cornhole with a meal at the Trading Post. No matter what meal you are wanting to enjoy, you are certain to find a pet friendly spot to fix your craving.

For an afternoon out of the sun, you can head over to Carolina Home and Garden where you can enjoy a coffee or cocktail, grab a bite to eat, browse their beautiful gardens, listen to live music or sit inside and play pinball and board games. You can even introduce your pup to one of the alpacas or ponies on site!

On Atlantic Beach, enjoy a drink at The Growler Bar which allows pets at the bar to enjoy the live music or outside for games.

Pet Friendly Shopping Spree

Take your furry family member down to Beaufort Pet Provisions where they can get a favorite treat or even give them the spa treatment with their dog washing stations after a day in the sand. Over in downtown Morehead City is Sea Paws where they can get a new collar and a chew toy to take back to your rental property.

At Spectrum Properties, we want to make your vacation to the Crystal Coast a relaxing trip with as little stress as possible. If that includes taking your four legged family member with you, rest assured it will remain a stress-free time with both our pet friendly rentals and this itinerary. Give us a call today to let us help you find the perfect property in the right location so you can come enjoy our beautiful coast!
