Front Street Grill at Stillwater
Front Street Grill reflects the rich history of Beaufort and is situated in the Topsail marine boathouse. You’ll have awesome views of the water, looking over gorgeous nature and wildlife as you enjoy lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch. Start with an appetizer like fresh fried okra, then follow up with a pan seared crab cake or grilled Cubano.
Prices are standard, at around $12 for a sandwich and side. Front Street Grill is located at 300 Front Street. They are closed on Mondays but are open Sunday and Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday’s hours are 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Beaufort Grocery
The French charm of Beaufort Grocery Company is the perfect addition to your getaway. Founded in 1991, this eatery is on the site of the former Owens Grocery Store, to which the restaurant owes its name. Enjoy lunch, dinner, or Sunday brunch in the beautiful Historic District while dining on favorites like smoked sea salt seared tuna and roasted rack of lamb. They also have an extensive wine list to complement your meal.
This eatery is a bit more upscale, with typical dinner entrée prices around $30. Beaufort Grocery is located at 117 Queen Street. They are closed on Tuesdays but are open the rest of the week from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. for lunch and from 5:30 for dinner. Sunday brunch is served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Moonrakers
Moonrakers is an upper-casual dining destination with comfortable décor that will make you feel right at home. Get a drink at the elevated Sky Deck, or just admire the water view, custom mural, and 14-foot ceilings. The menu continues the cozy feel with dishes like baked shrimp, potato gnocchi, and blackened grouper.
Prices reflect the upper-end feel at around $30 per dinner entrée. Moonrakers is located at 326 Front Street. They are open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.
The Spouter Inn
The Spouter Inn is a quaint and welcoming spot in Historic Beaufort. For over 30 years, locals an visitors alike have loved enjoying the views of Taylor’s Creek alongside dishes like scallops parmesan and chicken piccata. You can also grab a drink at the bar or pastry in the bakery.
Prices are reasonable here at between $20-30 per dinner entrée. The Spouter Inn is located at 218 Front Street. They are open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Clawson’s Restaurant
Clawson’s Restaurant has been welcoming guests for decades and is a great spot for a relaxing dinner and drinks. This casual eatery has a rich history and special events happening throughout the year. Come enjoy fresh seafood, mouthwatering burgers, and unique craft beers.
Entrees are cheaper than some other spots at around $20. Clawson’s is located at 425 Front Street. They are open Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Aqua
With humble beginnings as a tapas restaurant, Aqua has since emerged into one of the most popular restaurants in Beaufort. Try the original tapas or pick something unique like shrimp and country ham pasta or gazpacho, all made with local ingredients to ensure the highest quality.
Aqua’s upscale food comes at a surprisingly affordable price, around $20 for a small plate or $30 for a big plate. They are located at 114 Middle Lane and are open Tuesday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m.
