Family Fun at Atlantic Beach’s Local Park

Atlantic Beach Town Park

After a six year planning process, and with the help of local leaders and businesses, the town of Atlantic Beach opened it’s new town park on June 17, 2017. Located at 915 West Fort Macon Rd, the new town park still features the classic playground set and swings, as well as a basketball court and shaded picnic area, and a merry-go-round, as well as many exciting new additions to the attraction. The park sits in a spot that is a good median between Atlantic Beach and Pine Knoll Shores, giving you the option to choose one of our rental properties in either town and still be able to visit the town park. Did we mention the park even features free wifi?

Mini Golf

The new and improved town park features an 18-hole course complete with challenges, a waterfall, and fountains along the way. A budget-friendly family activity, admission is only $5 a person and children under 6 play for free! The mini golf area also features a concession stand full of snacks and beverages as well as restroom facilities. These amenities are open in the summer season, close in the off-season, and re-open during spring and run from 10am to 9pm.

Our Area’s First Skate Park

Open free to the public, Atlantic Beach welcomes the skater and BMX community. Perched in front of our beach and dunes, this location serves as the only skate park in Carteret County. Choose from the bowl, the half pipe, or the rails. They even feature special BMX hours. Skate park hours are 9am to 9pm (or dusk) and riders under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Helmets are required!

The Spashpad

Are your little ones complaining about the heat? Well, here’s your solution! The town park now features an interactive water fountain. Kids and adults of all ages will enjoy the streaming jets of water. Either in a bathing suit or fully clothed, the new splash pad is the perfect way to cool off on our hot summer days!

Fun Summer Activities

From the junior lifeguard program, to the Annual Beach Run, to beach volleyball leagues, the town park is the home for all of your summer fun. The town also offers a free outdoor movie night around 8:30pm each week during the summer, which is shown at the pavilion at the Atlantic Beach Circle (115 Atlantic Blvd). Bring chairs and blankets and enjoy a movie on the beach! Check out this page for the movie schedule.

The town park really has and will continue to be a great addition to our community. With it’s perfect location (located so close to so many of our wonderful rentals), and assortment of activities, our town park is a fun, family oriented, spot full of so much enjoyment for everyone of all ages.
