Comfortable and relaxing

We enjoyed our stay here. The beds were comfortable. The screened porch was perfect for relaxing in the evening.

What a view!

Always a concern when renting online, but this was just as shown. Beautiful location, huge house, plenty of linens. We had room for our boat and hoses to wash down, close to ramps.

RELAXING!

We totally enjoyed relaxing at this property. The slowed down atmosphere of the island and community were exactly what our family needed. Sitting on the porch looking at the water was awesome. The house is so close to the ferry over to Cape Lookout, what a bonus! We will be back soon!

Didn’t want to leave!

This cabin on Harkers Island was the perfect getaway for our family. The rocking chair on the screened porch with a view of the lighthouse, combined with salt air breezes was my favorite part. Especially, for a pet friendly rental, the house was very clean. Our dogs loved the yard and the live oak trees were great for the hammock we brought. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. We took advantage of being so close to the ferry and visited the Cape and the Decoy Museum. We also really enjoyed the small beach by the bridge; lots of hermit crabs to play with and we saw dolphins on 3 different days. Between Billy’s grocery store, the Midway mart and Dollar General we were able to find everything we needed for our 10 day stay, but we did venture into Beaufort one day for lunch. I would also recommend the homemade desserts at the Seaside Restaurant! The kitchen at the house was perfect for our needs. We only had one issue, there was no grill. However, we contacted the property manager and they brought us a brand new charcoal grill the next day. Also, one other minor thing was that the cleaning folks showed up at 9am on our checkout day… except our checkout time was 11am, so we asked them to come back later and they seemed slightly annoyed.

But, all in all we had an amazing, relaxing time and I can’t wait to come back!

Quiet dog-friendly retreat

This was a great get away for our family. We were able to get out of the house, bring our dogs and were a short walk from the ferry over to Shackleford Island. The place comes with a couple of nice extras – like a boogie board and binoculars. The shops around the island have the grocery essentials but I would recommend hitting up the store on the way in for anything beyond that. It was a much needed vacation!
