Now we need your help!! With the help of Misplaced Mutts, our company will hold our very first Adopt-A-Thon on September 9th, 2017 at our Atlantic Beach location:

Here are a few fun ideas for your time at the beach:
Horses, Hiking, and History- Participate in a guided hiking tour along Shackleford banks and learn about its heritage and wildlife habitat. Shackleford is part of the Cape Lookout National Seashore and is filled with important history that makes our coast unique. There are hundreds of Shackleford horses that are likely to be visible throughout the tour! Not recommended for children under 12. Kayaking the Salt Marsh- Learn about the importance of our marshes and what purpose they serve to our area through a relaxing kayak tour. This is a great way to explore our local history and see our beautiful marshes. For ages 12 and up. If you are under 18, an adult must accompany you. Explore the Rachel Carson Reserve- Our beaches are filled with a ton of unique plants and animals. Go on a guided hike and learn about the various habitats. The next hike will be August 17th. Learn About Our Coast
One of the best ways to learn about our coast is to participate in a fishing tournament in our area. Fishing is one of the many things that makes our area a thriving coastal attraction. This weekend, from July 27th to July 29th, the 29th Annual Band the Billfish Ducks Unlimited Tournament will be taking place. Our Duke University Marine Lab is holding an Open House on Saturday, July 29th from 1-3 pm. This is a cool opportunity to go behind the scenes of the scientific research happening in our area. Lab demonstrations, touch tanks, videos, and meetings with the scientists will be available to both children and adults! Call 252 504-7535 for more information.
You can learn about astronomy from almost any location, but learning about it while looking over the water is hard to beat. Fort Macon State Park is holding an astronomy program on Thursday, July 27th and Friday, August 11th at 8:30 pm. Use a telescope to find stars and learn more about our universe! The N.C. Aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores is making sharks the main attraction this week! Many activities, crafts, and family-friendly programs will be happening all week to educate the public on the truth behind these often feared creatures. Learning about their ecosystem, the threats they face, and their living habits will help us to better understand the shark population and help keep it safe.

The 59th Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament

Join the action at one of the largest fishing tournaments in the country!
On Saturday June 10th, the lady anglers had their fun in the 20th Annual Keli Wagner Lady Angler Tournament:
There are 177 boats fishing the tournament this week!! The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament participants fish 4 out of 6 days from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm from Monday, June 12th to Saturday, June 17th.
