Bike the Banks Crystal Coast Lighthouse Challenge – May 5th
A big event for any bike enthusiast, the 4th annual Bike the Banks event happens on May 5th this year. Choose from 3 different bike rides along the coast—a 10 mile ride on Emerald Isle’s multi-use path, a 50 mile Fort Macon ride, and even a 100 mile ride on Cape Lookout. Free Wine Tasting at The Chandlery – May 5th to June 2nd
Located at 2400 Lennoxville Road in Beaufort, The Chandlery hosts a free wine tasting every Saturday from May 5th to June 2nd. You can find this fun and free event located in The Boathouse at Front Street Village. This simple and fun event runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday!
Camp Crystal Kai – May 12th through the 20th
This is a health and wellness stand-up paddle boarding retreat for women that happens from May 12th through the 20th. The week-long all-inclusive adventure allows you to paddle board along nearly 100 miles of coastline. Boasted as a week of fitness, relaxation, and fun on the water Camp Crystal Kai is geared towards women who want to challenge themselves through new experiences.

Atlantic Beach Music Festival – May 19th
The 5th year of the Atlantic Beach Music Festival happens on May 19th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m at the boardwalk at the Circle on Atlantic Blvd. Several local and regional bands will take to the stage for a day full of music and sunshine. Bands in the lineup include Band of Oz, Fantastic Shakers, Jim Quick & Coastline, and Mighty Saints of Soul.
Alive at Five Concert Series – June 1st through August 17th
The Alive at Five concert series runs from June 1st through August 17th. Sponsored by the Downtown Morehead City Revitalization Association, the free concerts are the first and third Fridays of each month and take place in Downtown Morehead City at Jaycee Park. Come hear the live music from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and enjoy the waterfront, tunes, and summer air.
Tri for Fun Kids Triathlon – June 2nd
This family event takes place on June 2nd from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Open to kids from 5-years-old to 15, the event is run by Sports Center Morehead (701 N. 35th Street, Morehead City, NC) and provides a fun and empowering day of spots and activities. It also raises money for a great cause, helping fund local physical education programs.
Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament – June 8th through the 17th
Happening on Big Rock Landing in Morehead City, this tournament is one of the country’s largest and oldest tournaments of its kind. If you love fishing this is an event you won’t want to miss out on. From June 8th to June 17th, the tournament draws hundreds of anglers from across the country, while raising money for cancer research.
Carteret Community Theatre Shows – Multiple Dates
If you’re looking for a night of live entertainment, you’ll find plenty going on throughout the summertime at the Carteret Community Theatre. The theatre will be putting on several shows including Grease which will run on June 29th and 30th, July 1st, July 6th, 7th, and 8th. Then on July 14th, there will be a Beach Boys Tribute by the group Sail On. The theatre is located at 1311 Arendell Street in Morehead City and buying tickets ahead of time is encouraged.
Country Cool – August 18th at the Carteret Community Theatre
Get ready for a straight-shooting comedy show that is sure to make you laugh. Headlining comedians all have southern roots and provide a no-nonsense approach to comedy with charm and style. The three female comedians will have you laughing the night away in no time. The show is on August 18th from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Morehead City at the Carteret Community Theatre.
