March 27 | Behind the Scenes: Shark Snack | 7:30pm – 9:30pm

March 28 | Musket Firing Demonstration at Fort Macon | 10am – 11am

March 29 – 31 | Bogue Sound Distillery – Open House Weekend | 11am – 8 pm

The Distillery will be open to the public for the weekend of March 29-31. Visitors are welcome to browse the facility, tasting room, and museum display. Come get acquainted with Richard Chapman and the family that started it all. You’re sure to enjoy the experience of Bogue Sound Distillery. March 30 | Live Music by WireGlass @ Shortway Brewing Co. | 6pm – 9pm

Come by Shortway to grab your favorite brew for a great cause! We are hosting a food drive to support our local food pantry, Martha’s Mission. WireGrass kicks off at 6 pm Friday. March 31 | Easter Egg Hunt & Family Fun Run | 9:30am – 11am

Celebrate the holiday weekend with the Morehead City Annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department. Thousands of candy/toy-filled eggs will be spread throughout three egg hunt activity areas. Areas are divided by the following age groups: 4 & under, 5-8, and 9-12. NO PETS PLEASE!!! March 31 | Beaufort Historic Site’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt | 11am – 12pm

Children ages seven and younger are invited to search for hidden eggs placed all around the Historic Site filled with candy and enjoy light refreshments! This annual event, coordinated with volunteers from the National Charity League, a mother-daughter service organization, is fun for the whole family! March 31 | Bogue Sound Full Moon Paddle | 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Nothing can be more beautiful than a full moon rising above a Bogue Sound. There is just something magical about moonbeams and water — and sharing the experience of looking at the moon with someone special, even if that someone special is just you. April 6 | Grenoldo Frazier Jazz Concert | 6:30pm – 8pm

Grenoldo Frazier, the dynamic performer and multiple Audelco award-winning composer and director, will perform a concert of jazz music at St. Francis by the Sea. April 6-7 | 2nd Annual Mill Fest Homebrew Competition | 12pm – 9pm

Mill Whistle Brewing and Crystal Coast Brewing, both Carteret County breweries, are working together this year to put on the 2018 Mill Fest and Home Brew competition. There will be new beer releases from Mill Whistle Brewing and Crystal Coast Brewing. A minimum of twelve commercial locally brewed beers will be on tap at any time during the event including IPAs, red ale, dark beer, fruit beer, sour beer, and lagers. For more details, 252-342-6929.

April 8 | Introduction To Wooden Boat Building | 9am – 4:30pm

A two-day hands-on course, students will explore the art of boat building from start to finish. They begin with the design and lofting of boats, and move on to the setup, steam bending and different methods of creating the back bone of small boats. In addition, they will learn how to make planking systems, both carvel and lap strake and all the appropriate fastening systems. By the end of the course, students will have the knowledge and skill to choose a design and style of boat to build on their own and the confidence to take on the job. Course Fee: $135.
