Crystal Coast of North Carolina Attractions - NC Beach, Fishing, Dining - Spectrum Properties

The Carteret county area of the southern Outer Banks has been dubbed "the Crystal Coast" of North Carolina. The Crystal Coast is a 30 mile long barrier island and is home to numerous beautiful beach communities such as Atlantic Beach, Pine Knoll Shores, Salter Path, Indian Beach and Emerald Isle. The Crystal Coast is also in close proximity to Morehead City, the area’s largest town that is famous for its sport fishing charters, restaurants and quaint boardwalk. Adjoining Morehead City is Beaufort, founded in 1709 and one of the oldest towns in North Carolina. Beaufort is a historic seaport that has hosted the likes of the pirate Black Beard himself, and its historic district contains many old restored structures along with wonderful sightseeing and great shopping. Other interesting communities within a short driving distance of the Crystal Coast include New Bern and Swansboro, both historic towns that also offer excellent sightseeing and shopping.

Within the above communities are many attractions including fun filled excursions, great restaurants, wonderful boating, terrific fishing, “crabbing” and “shrimping”, kayaking, parasailing, surfing, jet skiing, scuba diving, boat cruises, camping, and many others. Other local attractions include the famous Cape Lookout Lighthouse, various museums, the North Carolina Aquarium, the wild Shackleford ponies, and extensive wildlife. “Water, water everywhere” describes not only the ocean but also the magnificent sounds, inlets and canals in the area surroundings.
